About Steffan
Steffan Thomas is an experienced Welsh Record Producer, Recording Engineer and Mixer. Steffan showed an interest in music from a young age learning piano and cello before venturing in to the recording industry. In 2008 Steffan moved to Los Angeles, CA to perfect his skills by attending (RIT) at the Musicians Institute.
During his time in Los Angles Steffan had the opportunity to gain major experience under the wing of many industry professionals. He made a vast network of music contacts and had valuable experience both in major music and post production studios. Over the past 3 years Steffan has had the opportunity to work with many artists and producers from Wales, London and LA.
Steffan opened Octagon Productions Ltd in early 2010 as his studio base. He serves as Managing Director and owner of the company.
Steffan’s experties lie in Producing singers, pop ,rock, Classical and Classical Crossover music. His productions and Mixes have been played on BBC Radio 2, BBC Radio Wales, American Radio, S4C, Radio Cymru, BBC 1 and many more.
About Chris
Chris began playing at age 14 and started as a professional musician at 16. He spent 4 years playing in various live bands, local theatre shows including Little Shop of Horrors, Bugsy Malone, and Josephs Technicolor Dream Coat. He then decided he wanted to polish his skills so auditioned and won a position at the Academy of Contemporary in Guilford, Surrey (www.acm.ac.uk).
Chris spent an intensive year at the prestigious college under the expert guidance of Guthrie Govan, Dave Kilminster, Pete Callard and many other great teachers. Whilst at the Academy Chris had the opportunity to play along side Chad Smith of the Red Hot Chilli Peppers, members of Alice Cooper, Skunk Anansie, and Asia to name but a few. At graduation Chris was awarded ‘Most Outstanding Guitarist of the year’, selected from over 2000 students.
Since graduating from the ACM Chris has been a busy session and live player/singer. He’s had the pleasure of performing at some great venues from the London Astoria to the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff alongside Shirley Bassey and Michael Ball for the 1999 Rugby World Cup, to The Royal Albert Hall!
Chris has appeared on BBC TV, S4C, BBC Radio, and MTV with band iPOP who regularly tour the Middle East and Europe. He has also recently been on tour with the west end show Abba Mania, playing to thousands of Abba fans in Singapore, Australia and New Caladonia. When he isn’t busy touring he can be found in the studio writing and recording his own music.
